Poonch | : Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal Saturday chaired a review meeting to assess the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district. The meeting covered progress on rooftop solar installations, application status and financial disbursements.
A total of 1,125 applications have been received under the scheme with 157 rooftop solar systems installed so far. The review included bank-wise and sub-division-wise progress, reasons for application rejections and pending cases.
The Deputy Commissioner urged departments to expedite installations and ensure completion of pending cases. He directed officials to conduct intensive awareness campaigns to inform residents about the scheme’s benefits and encourage participation.
Instructions were issued to simplify registration processes and speed up approvals. The DC also emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among the Power Development Department, financial institutions and empanelled vendors to resolve technical and procedural issues.
The meeting was attended by SE JPDCL Ayoub Khawaja, Tehsildar HQ Palvi Verma, LDM Ravi Kumar and other officers.
