Srinagar : Police in Sopore have taken significant action against terrorism financing by attaching bank credits totaling Rs 18,93,426, identified as proceeds of terrorism.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the action is linked to FIR No. 105/2024 and is being investigated under various sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Arms Act. Stating that the attachment was executed with the necessary approval from the competent authority under the UAPA, Police in its statement further said that the operation is part of a broader effort to dismantle the financial infrastructure that supports terrorist organizations and their affiliates. Police has in its statement also reiterated commitment to dismantle the entire terror ecosystem including ideological, operational, and financial components, appealing therein people to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist in addressing threats to peace and national security.
