Shopian | : In a dedicated move to foster gender equality and raise awareness on the rights of the girl child, Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women (SHEW), Mission Shakti Shopian Thursday organized an impactful awareness programme at Government High School Chanchmarg, Shopian.
The session was led by the Gender Specialist of Sankalp Hub, who strongly emphasized the importance of girl education and the need to empower girls to become informed and confident individuals. The speaker urged students and staff to stand against gender discrimination and uphold the rights of every girl child.
Faculty members of the school also spoke passionately about the value of educating girls, their fundamental rights, and the vital role girls play in shaping a progressive society.
A pledge ceremony was held where students and staff committed themselves to support and protect the rights of the girl child.
Awareness stickers carrying powerful messages were pasted in and around the school premises to spread the message beyond the event.
The programme concluded on a hopeful note, with a collective commitment to continue working towards a society that values, educates, and empowers every girl child.
