Srinagar | : To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a speech competition was organized by RPHQ Srinagar in collaboration with the Central University of Kashmir.
The event, held at the Conference Hall PEB-1, focused on the theme “Strong Leadership in Modern India – Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Legacy,” encouraging students to reflect on the values of unity, discipline, courage, and leadership exemplified by Patel, known as the ‘Iron Man of India.’ Students from various departments participated enthusiastically, delivering speeches in English, Urdu, and Hindi. DIG CKR Srinagar, Rajiv Pandey, highlighted Patel’s role as the architect of national integration and his belief in administrative efficiency, noting that his legacy serves as a model for law enforcement agencies. The event featured Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir, Chief Proctor & Dean of Legal Studies at CUK, as the Chief Guest, who underscored the ongoing relevance of Patel’s vision and contributions to national integration. Other notable guests included various deans and officials from the university, all of whom emphasized Patel’s determination and commitment to national unity. Peer Zahoor, SP and Staff Officer to DIG CKR Srinagar, praised the initiative for fostering a sense of identity and national character among youth. The competition concluded with the distribution of prize money to top performers and certificates of participation to all attendees, followed by a vote of thanks from the Chief Guest.
