Srinagar |: Police, in collaboration with the Excise, Agriculture, and Revenue Departments, initiated a joint anti-cannabis operation in the Awantipora Police District.
According to a police statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the operation resulted in the destruction of wild cannabis plants spread over approximately 10 Kanals along the banks of the River Jhelum in Reshipora. The operation was led by the Incharge of the Police Post Reshipora, under the supervision of the SDPO Awantipora, and included active participation from civil society members, who contributed to clearing significant areas of wild cannabis. The police emphasized their commitment to fostering a drug-free society and called upon the public to support this important initiative.
