DLRC/DCC meeting reviews bank performance in Samba

Samba | :  Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rajesh Sharma Thursday chaired the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) and District Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting for the quarter ending March 2025 at the DC Office, Samba. The meeting was convened to review the performance of banks operating in the district with respect to Deposits, Advances, Credit-Deposit (CD) Ratio, and the progress made under the Annual Credit Plan (ACP) for the financial year 2024–25.

Presenting the financial status, the Lead District Manager (LDM) informed the house that as on 31st March 2025, banks in Samba district had recorded total deposits of ₹8243.19 crore and advances of ₹4883.50 crore, resulting in a CD Ratio of 59.24%. Under the ACP 2024–25, banks collectively achieved ₹3464 crore against a target of ₹2350 crore, registering an impressive 147% performance.

In sectoral achievements, banks disbursed ₹1756 crore under the Priority Sector against a target of ₹1987 crore (88%), while under the Non-Priority Sector, disbursement stood at ₹1708 crore against the target of ₹362 crore, marking a remarkable 471% achievement.

DC Sharma conducted a comprehensive review of various Government Sponsored Schemes (GSS), with particular focus on PMEGP, JKREGP, KCC, HADP, PMAY, NRLM, NULM and others. He underscored the imperative of achieving 100% digitalization of bank accounts and urged all banks and sponsoring agencies to intensify outreach efforts and raise public awareness regarding self-employment and financial inclusion schemes.

He further directed the banking institutions to expedite the disposal of all pending cases sponsored by government departments and agencies. Special emphasis was laid on increasing credit flow under key sectors such as Agriculture & Allied Activities, MSMEs, Housing and Education, in order to enhance the district’s overall CD Ratio. He also impressed upon all stakeholders to ensure saturation under flagship Social Security Schemes such as PMSBY, PMJJBY and APY.

The meeting was convened by SubashChander, Lead District Manager, Samba and witnessed participation from Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba, Gurpreet Singh, LDO RBI, DDM NABARD, officials from civil administration, District Coordinators of J&K Bank, SBI, PNB, JKGB, representatives from other banks and officers of various sponsoring government departments and agencies.
