Chairman, DLSA G’bal holds review meeting with Judicial Officers

Ganderbal |: Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman DLSA) Ganderbal, Abdul Nasir, convened a crucial meeting of all judicial officers of district Ganderbal Thursday in his office chamber, here.

The meeting focused on the Mediation ‘For the Nation’ campaign, a 90-day mediation drive aimed at settling pending cases in all Taluka Courts, District Courts, and High Courts of India through mediation.

This initiative seeks to reduce the burden on courts and promote amicable settlements, preparation for a special Lok-Adalat scheduled for July 26, 2025, focusing on Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) and matrimonial cases.

The objective is to resolve these cases through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, ensuring speedy justice and reducing pendency, and review of cases pertaining to serving armed personnel, ex-servicemen, and Veer Naris, a review of the status of cases involving serving armed personnel, ex-servicemen, and Veer Naris, with an emphasis on their amicable settlement through the Lok-Adalat process. This initiative demonstrates the commitment to providing support and justice to these individuals and their families.

The meeting deliberated on strategies to identify cases suitable for mediation and Lok-Adalat, emphasizing the importance of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in reducing pending cases. Judicial officers exchanged valuable insights, and an action plan was formulated to execute these initiatives effectively.

The key objectives of the meeting was to encourage the use of mediation and Lok-Adalat to settle disputes, reducing the burden on courts and promoting speedy justice, focus on resolving pending cases, particularly those involving serving armed personnel, ex-servicemen, and Veer Naris, through amicable settlements and Ensure that all parties, especially vulnerable groups, have access to justice through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.

During the session, Chairman DLSA stressed on the judicial officers to identify and prioritize cases related to serving armed personnel, ex-servicemen, and Veer Naris. He added that these sections of society have made immense contributions and sacrifices for the nation and must receive expedited and respectful access to justice, and it is our duty to ensure that the families of armed forces personnel, including Veer Naris, do not face unnecessary legal delays. Their cases must be identified and resolved with utmost sensitivity and urgency.

The meeting was attended by all judicial officers of district Ganderbal, including Rafia Hassan, Additional District and Sessions Judge, Ganderbal; Tabasum, Sub Judge/CJM, Ganderbal; Mufti Nahida, Munsiff/JMIC, Kangan; Mahoor, Munsiff/JMIC, Ganderbal, and Moonis Wahid, ASMM, Ganderbal.

By promoting alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and focusing on specific cases, DLSA Ganderbal aims to provide speedy justice and support to all parties involved.
