Director Itoo hails initiative, terms it as a boost to academic morale

Srinagar | :  In a remarkable celebration of academic excellence and youth empowerment, Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) in collaboration with Gandhi Global Family (Kashmir Chapter) Tuesday held a felicitation ceremony to honor Class 10th toppers from Government Schools across the Kashmir division.

The event, held in the Conference Hall of DSEK, Srinagar acknowledged the hard work, dedication, and achievements of one topper from each of the ten districts of Kashmir division, bringing recognition and pride to government schools that continue to produce bright minds despite numerous challenges.

Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. G. N. Itoo in his address, extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Gandhian Global Family for organizing this meaningful event.

Director remarked that such gestures of recognition play a vital role in boosting the morale of students, especially those studying in government institutions.

“Our government school students have consistently shown that they are second to none. Recognizing their merit not only uplifts them but also sets a powerful example for their peers,” said Dr. Itoo.

He further stated that these young achievers represent the future of Kashmir. Their success is a testament to the spirit of perseverance, and it is imperative that we continue to nurture their potential through love, education and Gandhian ideas

In his address Dr. S. P. Verma, President of the J&K Chapter of Gandhian Global family emphasized the importance of inculcating Gandhian values of truth, non-violence, and discipline among students. He applauded the toppers for their stellar performances and encouraged them to be torchbearers of ethical leadership in society.

The event was also attended by Director, (IIM) Indian Institute of Management Srinagar Chapter, Dr. Burhan and Joint Director elementary education, Muhammad Mushtaq and Joint Director Secondary Education, Kishore Kumar, who shared insights on holistic education and motivation-based learning. Their presence underlined the department’s continued commitment to recognizing and encouraging merit at the grassroots level.

The felicitation ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates and mementos to the district toppers. Parents of these students on the occasion expressed profound joy and appreciation for the initiative, which they viewed as a milestone moment in the lives of their children.
