Srinagar: Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-

LG Flags Off First Batch of Amarnath Yatra 2025 Pilgrims
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of pilgrims for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 from the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp. Extending his best wishes, the LG prayed for a safe, comfortable, and soul-stirring pilgrimage for all devotees. “May Baba Amarnath bless everyone with peace and well-being,” he said.
LG Visits Border Village, Prays At Daati Maa Dev Sthan
LG Manoj Sinha visited Changiya village in Arnia sector and paid obeisance at Daati Maa Dev Sthan of Mahajan Phagetra Biradari. He prayed for peace, prosperity, and the safe conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, while reiterating the government’s support for border area development.
CM Hails Youth As Change-Makers At SKUAST-K Convocation:
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah attended SKUAST-K’s 6th Convocation and praised graduating students as “torchbearers of truth and transformation.” He urged them to lead with compassion, courage, and integrity. “Your character will shape the future of rural India,” the CM said.
Border Residents Saluted for Courage During Operation Sindoor; Says LG:
Lauding the resilience of border residents, LG Manoj Sinha reiterated the Centre’s commitment to inclusive development of frontier areas under the Vibrant Village Programme. “Border villages are the first line of defence. Their development is our top priority,” he affirmed.
LG, Union Minister Inaugurate SKUAST-K Convocation
LG Manoj Sinha and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the 6th Convocation of SKUAST-K. Chouhan lauded J&K’s progress, while the LG reaffirmed commitment to making the UT a hub of horticulture. Over 5,000 degrees were conferred, with women students bagging 115 of 150 gold medals.
LG Inaugurates Yatri Niwas Complex At Baltal:
LG Sinha inaugurated the 800-bed Yatri Niwas complex for Amarnath pilgrims at Baltal, developed by ONGC under CSR. He expressed gratitude to PM Modi and Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri for their support. Facilities are also being developed at Sidhra, Bijbehara, and Nunwan.
Water Supply Boost; 10 Tankers Flagged Off Ahead of 10 Muharram
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Jal Shakti Minister Javed Ranaa flagged off 10 new water tankers to ensure uninterrupted water supply during Muharram. The move aims to meet increased demand and improve service delivery in key areas.
‘Har Didi Ek Kahani’ Book Launched to Celebrate SHG Women
CM Omar Abdullah, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Cabinet Minister Javed Ahmad Dar launched ‘Har Didi Ek Kahani’, a compendium featuring 100 inspiring stories of women from Self Help Groups (SHGs) who have become entrepreneurs and Lakhpati Didis.
CM, Union Minister Interact With Progressive Dairy Farmers
During the inauguration of the UHT Milk Processing Plant, CM Omar Abdullah and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh interacted with dairy farmers who shared experiences of improved income and efficiency through cooperative procurement.
CM Meets Dal Dwellers, Shikara Owners; Promises Support
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah chaired a meeting with Dal Lake stakeholders, including shikara owners and houseboat dwellers. He assured resolution of long-pending issues and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protect the lake and support dependent communities.
