DC, SSP Rajouri review arrangements for Annual Urs of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah (RA) at Shahdara Sharief

Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma and Senior Superintendent of Police, Gaurav Sikarwar Friday jointly chaired a review meeting at the revered Shahdara Sharief ne to finalize arrangements for the upcoming Annual Urs of Hazrat Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah (RA), scheduled to be observed on 5th and 6th July 2025.
The meeting focused on ensuring seamless arrangements for the thousands of devotees expected to arrive from different parts of the country to pay obeisance at the ne.
A comprehensive review was held on key components including transport and traffic regulation, power supply, drinking water, sanitation, security deployment and other necessary facilities to facilitate a smooth and spiritually enriching experience for the pilgri
The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned departments to work in close coordination and ensure round-the-clock availability of essential services. He emphasized the need for cleanliness in and around the ne premises, timely garbage clearance, uninterrupted power supply and installation of adequate drinking water points. He also stressed on crowd management measures and adequate signage for the convenience of the devotees.
The SSP took stock of the security and traffic management plan. He instructed the deployment of sufficient police personnel to regulate vehicular movement and maintain law and order during the event.
The DC urged all stakeholders to work in synergy to ensure that the Annual Urs is celebrated peacefully, with proper facilities and security arrangements in place for all attendees.
The meeting was attended by SDM Thanamandi Abid Hussain, SDPO Thanamandi, ACD Rajouri Auqil Naveed, Administrator Waqf Rajouri Qayoom Mir, Tehsildar Thanamandi, Executive Engineers of PDD, PHE and other district and sectoral officers.
