Awantipora : The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) organized an industrial visit to the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) as part of its Industrial Connect initiative.
The visit was aimed to connect academic learning with practical entrepreneurial experiences, providing students with valuable insights from industry experts. During the visit, students engaged with professionals such as Dr. Sameer, Dr. Iftikhar Wajid Agha, and Aijaz, who advocated for entrepreneurship as a viable career path. The speakers emphasized the critical role of mathematics in entrepreneurship, highlighting its applications in data-driven decision-making, financial modeling, risk assessment, optimization, and fostering innovation. Students were encouraged to leverage their analytical and problem-solving skills, honed through their mathematics education, to identify market opportunities, create sustainable business models, and promote innovation. The event was coordinated by Dr. Afaq Ahmad, the Coordinator of the Industrial Connect program within the Department of Mathematical Sciences at IUST.
