Says “J&K Will Emerge As Key Growth Engine In India’s Journey

New Delhi: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh hosted a luncheon for Delhi-based officers from the Jammu & Kashmir cadre, now part of the AGMUT cadre, fostering professional bonding and nostalgia among attendees. The event, a continuation of Dr. Singh’s initiative to promote unity among officers, allowed participants to reminisce about their service in J&K and emphasized the importance of personal connections in enhancing professional collaboration. During his address, Dr. Singh highlighted the careers of various officers, reflecting on their journeys from initial postings in J&K to senior leadership roles. He recalled a significant initiative from 2014, encouraging senior officers to revisit their first districts to evaluate developmental progress, which he noted fostered a sense of continuity in public service. He underscored the strategic importance of Jammu & Kashmir in national development, citing key projects such as the Chenab Bridge and the Purple Revolution in lavender farming, which are empowering local youth. The gathering also provided a platform for officers to share experiences and concerns, with Dr. Singh emphasizing the value of accessible leadership that listens to feedback. He encouraged breaking down hierarchical barriers to enhance efficiency in governance, noting that personal engagement with officers can expedite processes that impact public welfare. The event was attended by a diverse group of officers from various services, reflecting a rich tapestry of experiences and insights that contribute to citizen-centric governance.
