Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has successfully solved a livestock theft case within hours of its occurrence in shopian and arrested two accused individuals involved in the commission of crime.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that in a livestock theft incident involving Muhammad Sultan Teli from Shopian, a cow valued at approximately Rs. 1 lakh was stolen by the accused from his yard during the night of June 30. Stating that following the receipt of his written application, Police Station Shopian registered a case under FIR No. 146/2025 and initiated an investigation Police in its statement further said that a special investigative team was formed, which successfully recovered the stolen cow within hours. Police in its statement identified two suspects involved in the crime as Altaf Mushtaq Ganaie from Meemander and Showkat Ahmad Malik from Arhama Shopian. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reiterates its commitment to protect lives and property of the people .
