Srinagar : Nalin Prabhat Director General J&K Police on Mondaay convened a high-level Joint Security Review meeting at the Range Police Headquarters in Anantnag to evaluate the security situation in South Kashmir, particularly in preparation for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.
Following the meeting, he, along with senior officials including Special DGP Coordination SJM Gillani and IGP Security J&K Sujit Kumar, conducted a thorough field visit to key areas along the Yatra route, specifically in and around Pahalgam. During this visit, the DGP inspected the Base Yatra Camps at Nunwan and Chandanwari, performing a security audit and reviewing the necessary deployments and arrangements to ensure that logistics, infrastructure, and personnel were adequately prepared for a secure pilgrimage. A subsequent detailed security review meeting was held in Pahalgam, attended by senior officers from various security agencies, including the Police, Army, CRPF, BSF, ITBP, and intelligence agencies. In this meeting, the DGP assessed the current security posture and issued directives to enhance preparedness against potential threats, with a focus on maintaining law and order along the Pahalgam axis. He concluded by urging all officers and relevant agencies to collaborate closely to ensure the peaceful, smooth, and secure conduct of the Amarnath Yatra in 2025.
