Srinagar: Below is the weeklong timeline of key engagements of J&K Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah witnessed within and outside J&K this week:-
1. June 28 | CM Tees Off Golf Tourney: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated a golf tournament at Royal Springs Golf Course, highlighting J&K’s rising appeal as a premier golfing destination in India.
2. June 27 | LG Sinha Meets NCC Cadets: LG Manoj Sinha interacted with NCC cadets at the Special National Integration Camp in Srinagar, celebrating cultural unity and youth engagement.
3. June 26 | CM Bats For Tourism Revival: At the FICCI Tourism Revival Dialogue in Srinagar, CM Omar Abdullah called for united efforts to reclaim J&K’s top spot as India’s tourism crown. He also launched Golfing in Paradise by Atul Dir.
4. June 26 | Amarnath Yatra Review Meet: LG Sinha chaired a political leaders’ meet at Raj Bhawan Srinagar to review Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra arrangements. CM Omar Abdullah and leaders from various parties participated.
5. June 25 | CM To NCC: Be Ambassadors of Peace: CM Omar Abdullah urged NCC cadets to become symbols of unity and spread positive stories of Jammu & Kashmir across India.
6. June 25 | LG Invites Pilgrims for Yatra: LG Sinha appealed to devotees to participate in the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra beginning July 3, assuring them of full arrangements.
7. June 25 | CM Reviews Capital Investment Push: CM reviewed implementation of the Special Assistance for Capital Investment and directed officials to expedite viable project proposals to the Centre.
8. June 25 | LG: Unite Against Drug Menace: On Int’l Day Against Drug Abuse, LG Sinha urged citizens to build a drug-free society, highlighting the social damage caused by narcotics.
9. June 24 | Emergency Exhibition Opens in Jammu: LG Sinha inaugurated the 1975 Emergency Exhibition at Jammu Convention Centre, calling it a dark period when constitutional freedoms were crushed.
10. June 24 | CM Launches Gulmarg Adventure Projects: CM Omar Abdullah laid the foundation for a 726m ski drag lift at Kangdoori and launched development of the Seven Springs water body in Gulmarg.
11. June 23 | LG Chairs Shrine Board Meet: LG Sinha chaired the 75th Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board meeting; inaugurated new pilgrim facilities and announced dedication of five temples in Reasi by July 2025.
12. June 23 | CM Hails Tunnel Approvals: CM Omar welcomed approval of Sadhna and Peer Ki Gali tunnels worth over ₹8,100 crore, calling them vital for all-weather connectivity and regional growth.
