Jammu: The members of the Jammu and Kashmir Petroleum Dealers Association called on the Controller Legal Metrology J&K, Rajinder Singh Tara.
The delegation led by President Rahul Gupta discussed challenges currently faced by Petroleum dealers across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The delegation emphasized the importance of the need for collaborative and proactive efforts to ensure smooth functioning and service delivery and handed over a gist of issues requiring deliberation of the Controller.
The Controller patiently listened to the members of the association and assured full cooperation from the department. He said that the department will organize awareness camps to aware the dealers about the intricacies of the legal provisions as well as technical aspects facilitating them in voluntary compliances.
The Controller asked the petroleum dealers to take care of consumer grievances with utmost sensitivity. He emphasized the need to reduce consumer complaints and urged the association to prioritize resolving issues and ensuring consumer satisfaction in all aspects.
The Controller further advised them to provide appropriate amenities to consumers on all routes in general and on National Highways in particular in view of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra 2025.
The Controller assured the delegation that the Department is actively facilitating the genuine businessman as part of Business Reform Action Plans without comprising the interests of the consumers by way of ensuring compliance with enforcement of Legal Metrology Standards and regulations.
