Drug Peddler arrested in Sopore, Contraband Substance Recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and also recovered a contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Bomai during naka checking at Bun Astan Tujjer
intercepted a suspect and during his checking recovered a charas- like substance from the possession of the said accused who was identified as Irfan Ahmad Sheikh S/O Abdul Majeed Sheikh R/O Panzipora Tarzoo.
Stating that the said accused was subsequently arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody Police in its statement further said that a under FIR No. 34/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Bomai and further investigation is underway to trace the source and wider network involved. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reiterated its commitment to combat drug trafficking and appealed to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
