G’bal: In preparation for Amarnath Yatra starting on July 3, Ganderbal Police, under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police Khalil Ahmed Poswal, have implemented a robust multi-layered security framework to ensure a safe pilgrimage for the expected large number of devotees.
Addressing a press in Ganderbal SSP Poswal emphasized the meticulous planning and coordination with various security forces, including the Army, CRPF, ITBP, and BSF, to establish a comprehensive security setup, particularly along the critical Baltal route. Advanced surveillance measures, such as mobile patrolling units and real-time monitoring systems, have been integrated into the security strategy to enhance safety. The police have urged pilgrims to adhere to instructions and cooperate with security personnel to facilitate a smooth experience. Additionally, security forces have increased their presence in higher and sensitive areas, conducting extensive operations in Ganderbal district to ensure safety. These operations involve the census of seasonal shelters, identification of transhumant tribal populations, and targeted searches in remote areas. Specific locations, including Mohand Marg, Gangbal, Trankhul, Walkwan, Bishansar, Khilanmarg, Akhal, and Badimarg, are under heightened surveillance to mitigate potential security threats. The district administration and security agencies remain committed to providing a secure and spiritually fulfilling experience for all pilgrims participating in the Yatra.
