Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has booked three individuals under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for their continued involvement in activities prejudicial to the security and sovereignty of the Union Territory.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police identified the three accused as Irfan Mohiuddin Dar S/o Gh. Mohiuddin Dar, R/o Sangrampora Sopore, Mohd Asif Khan S/o Ab. Rehman Khan, R/o Harwan Bomai and Gowhar Maqbool Rather S/o Mohd Maqbool Rather R/o Hardushiva.
Stating that despite being previously booked in multiple FIRs under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and facing repeated preventive actions, the trio continued to operate discreetly using encrypted VOIP platforms and VPN networks to maintain contact with terrorist handlers across the border Police in its statement further said that the said accused were also involved in clandestinely motivating local youth into anti-national activities.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police said that following sustained surveillance and dossier preparation, detention orders were issued by the competent authority, Stating therein further that all the three accused have been formally detained and lodged in Kot Bhalwal Jail.
