Budgam: As part of the ongoing Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan, a vibrant awareness and outreach prog was held Thursday at the tribal village of Ringzabal in Block Sukhnag of Budgam distt.
The event witnessed overwhelming participation from local residents, particularly women and youth, and showcased the commitment of the administration to saturate welfare schemes in tribal areas.
The day-long prog featured a special Gram Sabha, where representatives from 17 line deptts engaged directly with the public. They explained the scope, benefits, and eligibility criteria of various government schemes and identified gaps in coverage to ensure effective last-mile delivery.
On-the-spot registration and awareness drives were carried out for several welfare schemes, including, PMAY-G (Housing for All – Rural), Kisan Credit Card (KCC), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) for Functional Household Tap Connections, Ayushman Bharat – PMJAY Health Cards, Holistic Agriculture Development Prog (HADP), Swadesh Darshan Guest House Initiative and other agriculture-linked benefits.
A cultural prog showcasing traditional Gojri and Pahari folk songs and dances added a celebratory touch to the event. The performances highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the tribal population and reinforced the importance of preserving indigenous traditions alongside modern development.
Senior officials present at the event lauded the active involvement of the community and assured full support in processing received applications.
A dedicated feedback session was also held to document the challenges faced by villagers in accessing government schemes, enabling more responsive and tailored future interventions.
