New Delhi|June, 26 : On the occasion of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today extended warm wishes to all individuals and organisations dedicated to combating drug abuse, calling them “warriors and allies in our battle for a drug-free Bharat”.

In a message shared on social media platform X, Shah emphasised the gravity of the drug menace, particularly its devastating impact on the youth. “On International Day Against Drug Abuse, warm wishes to all our warriors and allies in our battle for a drug-free Bharat,’ Shah said. Reaffirming the Modi government’s commitment to eradicating drug abuse, Shah said, “Drugs are the biggest scourge for our youth. The Modi government is heading with a whole-of-government approach to this threat, striking narco-cartels ruthlessly and bringing back addicted youth to normal life with empathy”. He expressed hope that the day would further strengthen the nation’s determination to fight drug abuse. “May this day further fortify our resolve against the menace of drug abuse. Nasha Mukt Bharat,” he added.
