DC reviews implementation of PMAY-U scheme across Municipal Committees of B’gam

DC directs completion of targets within set timelines

Budgam : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat today chaired a detailed review meeting on the implementation status of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) in all six Municipal Committees (MCs) of the Distt.
As per the data presented during the meeting, a total of 3152 applications have been received through UWP (Urban Ward Platform) across all MCs in Budgam. The applications under Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) are 3100 while Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) is 52.
It was apprised that in MC Budgam, 2120 applications (2102 BLC, 18 AHP), in MC Chadoora 311 applications (281 BLC, 30 AHP), in MC Magam 319 applications (318 BLC, 1 AHP), in MC Beerwah 232 applications (231 BLC, 1 AHP), in MC Charar-i-Sharief 96 applications (96 BLC), in MC Khansahib 74 applications (72 BLC, 2 AHP) are received.
DC took stock of the progress of physical and financial implementation, and stressed upon timely verification, advance mobilization of funds, and speedy execution of housing units to achieve full saturation under the scheme.
He directed the officers to ensure that scheme guidelines are implemented in letter and spirit so that all genuine and eligible beneficiaries are provided pucca houses within stipulated timelines.
Dr Bilal emphasised that the existing field verification mechanism must be followed diligently at all stages of construction, including beneficiary identification, installment release, and progress verification.
DC called for coordinated efforts among field teams, engineers, and municipal officers to avoid delays, and instructed for daily progress monitoring of houses under construction.
DC said the objective of PMAY-U was ensuring “Housing for All” and assured full support from the Distt administration to ensure successful implementation of the scheme in Budgam.
