Mir pushes for 100% saturation of welfare entitlements in tribal areas

Baramulla : The ongoing Information, Education & Communication (IEC) campaign under the Dharti Aabha Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) is being closely monitored by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) of Baramulla, Gh Rasool Mir. A review meeting was held to evaluate the campaign’s impact, which runs from June 15 to June 30, 2025, with the goal of achieving 100 percent saturation of government welfare entitlements for the tribal population in the district. Key stakeholders, including the Joint Director of Planning, ACD Baramulla, and representatives from various departments such as ICDS, Agriculture, Health, and Social Welfare, participated in the meeting. These departments are crucial for conducting awareness and benefit saturation camps, which are essential for ensuring that tribal households can access a comprehensive range of government schemes and services. During the meeting, Chaudhary Mudasir Hussain, the Nodal Officer for DAJGUA, presented a report detailing the status of IEC activities. He outlined achievements in tribal-dominated areas, identified ongoing challenges, and discussed measures being implemented to enhance service delivery in remote regions. The report included updates on household surveys, door-to-door awareness initiatives, community engagement through panchayats, and the role of Common Service Centres (CSCs) in facilitating access to services. In his closing remarks, the ADDC stressed the importance of maximizing outreach in remote tribal areas and improving coordination among departments at both block and panchayat levels. He called for timely progress reports and emphasized the need to address service delivery gaps through targeted, community-focused interventions. The ADDC reiterated the commitment to achieving full saturation of entitlements, including health insurance, scholarships, housing benefits, and livelihood support, in a timely and mission-driven manner. The IEC campaign under DAJGUA reflects the district administration’s dedication to inclusive and equitable development. By adopting a whole-of-government approach to prioritize tribal welfare, Baramulla aims to set a benchmark in tribal empowerment and grassroots governance.
