New Delhi: Stating that contemporary India makes decisions based solely on what is beneficial for national interests, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked on Tuesday that ‘Operation Sindoor’ has clearly showcased India’s steadfast and unwavering stance against terrorism on the global front.
Addressing the centenary celebration of the significant dialogue between two of India’s most revered spiritual and moral figures, Sree Narayana Guru and Mahatma Gandhi, PM Modi referred to ‘Operation Sindoor’ and stated, ‘The world has recently observed the strength of India and its resolute policy against terrorism on the international stage.’ He asserted that India has made it clear—no refuge is secure for terrorists who shed the blood of Indian citizens. PM Modi indicated that the nation’s reliance on foreign countries for military requirements is gradually diminishing. ‘India is becoming self-sufficient in the defense sector,’ he remarked. The Prime Minister highlighted that this transformation was distinctly visible during Operation Sindoor, where Indian forces forced the adversary to capitulate within 22 minutes using weapons manufactured domestically. He expressed optimism that in the near future, Made-in-India armaments will gain international recognition and praise. Enumerating the accomplishments of his administration, PM Modi encouraged citizens to reflect on the conditions 10–11 years ago, when despite years of independence, millions were compelled to endure extremely challenging situations. The Prime Minister noted that countless families were without shelter, numerous villages lacked access to clean drinking water, and even minor ailments could not be treated due to inadequate healthcare, with serious illnesses often resulting in loss of life. He stated that millions of impoverished individuals—Dalits, tribals, women—were stripped of fundamental human dignity. PM Modi stressed that these adversities persisted through generations, causing many to lose hope for a brighter future. He questioned how a nation could advance when such a significant portion of its population endured suffering and hardship.
