Srinagar : Police in Handwara on Monday organized an interactive meeting with Lumberdars and Chowkidars of Police District Handwara at Environmental Hall, Handwara.
The meeting was chaired by SSP Handwara Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary and was attended by DySP PC Handwara, SHO Handwara along with other police officers. During the meeting, various issues concerning public welfare and policing were discussed in detail. A key issue that prominently emerged was drug abuse, which was raised by the participants. The attendees expressed their satisfaction over the actions carried out by police in recent past against this menace and its positive impact on the youth and society in Handwara.
Moreover, SSP Handwara assured that strict and sustained action will continue against the drug menace. He urged the community to actively cooperate with police authorities to help eradicate this threat and promote a safer, healthier society.
Elaborating further, SSP acknowledged their role at the grassroots in bridging the gap between police and public and urged the participants to unite in their efforts to strengthen the anti-terrorism grid. He emphasized them to share inputs pertaining to anti-terrorism from their respective areas with police while assuring the participants that their identity will be protected and kept confidential under all circumstances. Also, SSP Handwara assured the participants that matters pertaining to civil departments which were raised in the meeting will be taken up at appropriate forums for redressal.
