BJP MP Visits Sonamarg, Interacts with Trekking Bodies, Urges Bureaucratic Reforms
Sonamarg : Rajya Sabha MP and senior BJP leader Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana on Tuesday criticised the Omar Abdullah-led government for failing to promote tourism in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in iconic destinations like Sonamarg and Pahalgam.
Addressing a gathering Khatana highlighted the distress faced by local youth who had taken bank loans to invest in tourism-related infrastructure, and the growing concerns around permission restrictions at popular trekking routes. He appealed to tourists to visit Kashmir and enjoy its unique hospitality and natural beauty. Khatana also criticized bureaucratic attitudes and urged the J&K administration to address public grievances with dedication and extend full support to the tourism and trekking sectors.
