YS&S launches Distt-Level Inter-Zonal Tournament
Kishtwar: In a landmark development, an Indoor Shooting Range was officially inaugurated Thursday at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Boys Kishtwar by the Member Legislative Assembly Shagun Parihar.
The MLA was the chief guest on the occasion. The state-of-the-art shooting facility has been established through a collaborative effort of the Mechanical & Hospital Sub-Division and the Department of Youth Services & Sports (YS&S.
This initiative aims to provide world-class training infrastructure to young aspirants and promote precision sports like rifle shooting in the region.
In celebration of this milestone, the Department of Youth Services & Sports Kishtwar inaugurated a District-Level Inter-Zonal Tournament for U/14 and U/17 boys and girls in Wrestling, Table Tennis, Handball and Rifle Shooting.
The competitions are being hosted across designated venues, encouraging extensive participation from talented students.
Adding to the celebration, demonstration matches in Table Tennis and Wrestling were held, offering a glimpse into the immense talent and passion of the district’s young athletes.
The event was attended by DYSSO Jaffer Haider Sheikh; the host school Principal Ashok Kumar; AEE Mechanical Umar Ahanger and various officials from the Sports Department.
