Ganderbal: Member Parliament from Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, on Tuesday chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Ganderbal to review the implementation status and progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) across the district.
The meeting witnessed a comprehensive review of development works and government schemes being implemented in various sectors.
At the outset, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, gave a detailed presentation highlighting achievements under different sectors including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, NRLM, Urban Livelihoods Mission, Rural Development, R&B, Handicrafts & Handlooms, Social Welfare, Education, Health, Jal Shakti, Power, and Labour & Employment.
The meeting was apprised of the physical and financial progress achieved under flagship schemes like MGNREGA, PMAY-G/U, SBM-G/U, RGSA, PMGSY, JJM, and CSS funding, among others. Progress under MPLADS and awareness initiatives under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan were also discussed.
Commending the efforts of the District Administration, MP Aga Ruhullah lauded the performance across multiple sectors and emphasized the untapped potential of the Agriculture and Allied sectors in Ganderbal.
He directed the District Officers of Agriculture and allied sectors to adopt modern agricultural practices and technologies to maximize productivity and benefit the local population.
While reviewing the progress under JJM, MP directed the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti to strictly adhere to the stipulated deadlines and expedite the pace of work in all areas where projects are underway to ensure uninterrupted access to safe and clean drinking water to the residents.
Interacting with officers, MP stressed the importance of proactive governance, underlining that the core objective of all government schemes is public service and improved ease of living. He directed for efficient implementation of schemes to ensure benefits reach all eligible beneficiaries.
DDC Chairperson, Nuzhat Ishfaq, Vice-Chairperson and DDC members also participated in the meeting and raised several issues requiring urgent attention, including the completion of pending bridges, road widening projects, MRI facilities at District Hospital Ganderbal, completion of ongoing water supply schemes and early commissioning of the 93 MW Hydro Power Project.
