Large Quantity of Contraband Substances seized in B’gam, 4 arrested: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has seized significant quantity of contraband substances here in Budgam and also apprehended four drug peddlers during the operation.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that it received specific and credible inputs about the concealing of a large quantity of poppy straw like susbstances by one Mohammad Ashraf Parray S/o Ghulam Ahmad Parray R/o Bugam, Chadoora in his cowshed, Stating therein further a police team from police station Chadoora along with concerned Executive Magistrate 1st Class, Nagam, raided the said location. Stating that during the search, 76.540 kilograms of semi-ground poppy straw and 4.290 kilograms of grinded poppy straw in powder form (commonly known as Fukki) were recovered Police in its statement further said that four individuals involved in the commission of the crime were arrested on the spot following which they were identified as Muzaffar Ahmad Dar S/o Jalal Uddin Dar, Mohammad Ismail Dar S/o Ghulam Hassan Dar, Sajad Ahmad Guroo S/o Abdul Aziz Guroo, all residents of Ghat Tokna, Awantipora and Mohammad Altaf Parray S/o Ghulam Ahmad Parray R/o Bugam, Chadoora. Police in its statement furthermore said that a case under FIR No. 108/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora besides initiating further investigations.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reiterates its firm resolve to root out the drug menace from society and urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to narcotics.
