Srinagar: Police in Handwara on Saturday organized a Cyclothon cum Road Show collaboration with Government Higher Secondary School Ashpora and the Excise Department,.
The event aimed to generate awareness among the youth and the general public about the harmful effects of drug addiction and the importance of collective action in eradicating this social evil. Students, teachers, police personnel, officials from the Excise Department, and local residents actively participated with great enthusiasm.
The Cyclothon commenced from GHSS Ashpora and passed through various key areas of the locality, spreading the message of a drug-free society. Participants carried placards, raised slogans, and engaged with the public to emphasize the need for a vigilant and responsible community effort to curb drug abuse.
Speaking on the occasion, officials highlighted the crucial role of educational institutions, law enforcement agencies, and civil society in creating awareness and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
