Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Kupwara and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarter Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Kupwara at a checkpoint established at Gonipora Haihama, arrested a drug peddler identified as Nazir Ahmed Khan S/o Momin Khan R/o Gonipora Haihama Kupwara and during search recovered substantial quantity of Heroine-like substance from his possession, Stating therein further that Preliminary enquiry revealed engagement of the accused in illicit drug trafficking.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kupwara besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information related to drug trafficking and abuse.
