At the outset, DC held an extensive interaction with the public, during which people raised several demands and developmental concerns. These issues included the establishment of a veterinary centre, construction of a sports playground, desilting of irrigation canals, provision of safe drinking water, proper functioning of the local hospital, installation of ATM facilities, and the need for door-to-door garbage collection along with a designated dumping site.
DC gave a patient hearing and issued on-the-spot directions to concerned officers for prompt redressal of the genuine grievances raised by the public. He assured that the district administration is committed to ensuring responsive and efficient governance at the grassroots level.
Highlighting government initiatives, DC urged the local youth to actively register under Mission Yuva and benefit from various livelihood and skill development schemes. He appreciated the efforts of departments for disseminating valuable information to the public and promoting citizen participation in ongoing development initiatives.
Adding a cultural touch to the event, students from local schools presented various cultural performances and participated in sports activities, which were highly appreciated by the DC. He commended their talent and enthusiasm and encouraged continued participation in such constructive extracurricular engagements.
DC emphasized that outreach programmes like Block Diwas are vital platforms for bridging the gap between the administration and the people. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to holding such events regularly, especially in remote and rural areas, to ensure equitable development and efficient delivery of public services.
Among others SDM Gulmarg, Mir Jaliel Ahmed; ACD Baramulla, Chaudhary Mudasir Hussain; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Ibaad-ur-Rehman and other concerned sectoral officers, besides local residents, public representatives and senior citizens were present during the event.
