4 gamblers arrested in Sopore: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said it has arrested four gamblers in Sopore and seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on a specific inputS regarding gambling activities at Doabgah Rafiabad, a police team of Police Station Sopore raided the specific location and arrested four gamblers identified as Ghulam Hassan Ganie S/o Mohammad Sultan, Firdous Ahmad Dar S/o Mohammad Ramzan, Mushtaq Ahmad Malla S/o Abdul Aziz and Mohammad Amer Mir S/o Mohammad Abdullah, all residents of Doabgah Rafiabad.
Stating that stake money of ₹13,120 and playing cards were recovered from the possession of the said accused Police in its statement further said that a case under relevant provisions of law was registered at Police Station Sopore besides initiating further investigations. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police reiterated its commitment to upholdlaw and order and continue its crackdown on illegal activities in the area.
