DC Rajouri reviews arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha, Emphasizes proper sanitation, traffic management, public safety

Rajouri: Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha in the district. The meeting was attended by district and sectoral officers, along with prominent members of civil society.
Speaking at the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need for effective traffic management during the festival to prevent congestion, especially around mosques, Eidgahs and marketplaces.
He directed the enforcement departments to conduct market checking to curb overpricing and ensure the quality of essential ite
Instructions were issued to concerned departments to keep available buffer stock of essential commodities, ensure availability of ambulances and emergency medical care. The Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department was asked to ensure proper stamping of livestock to avoid any unfair practice.
Taking note of the importance of cleanliness during the festivities, the DC instructed the Municipal Council to make adequate arrangements for the prompt disposal of animal carcasses and to ensure cleanliness around mosques, Eidgahs and other congregational places.
The Executive Officer (EO) of the Municipal Committee was specifically directed to carry out an intensive night-time cleanliness drive one day prior to Eid-Ul-Azha to ensure a hygienic environment for the worshippers.
