Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has solved a theft case within 12 hours in Shopian by arresting the accused involved in the crime and also recovered stolen property.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the Police Post Keegam received a complaint from one Irshad Ahmad, a resident of Children Keegam, where he has alleged that during the night of 1st June 2025, an unknown individual had broken into his house and stole ₹40,000 in cash along with some jewellery.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 121/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered besides initiating further investigations Police in its statement further said that during the course of investigation, a police team led by In-Charge Police Post Keegam, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Shopian, identified and apprehended the accused Nazir Ahmad Malik S/o Ab. Rashid Malik R/o Tharian Keller and recovered stolen items from his possession.
