Srinagar : Police on Thursday organized Thana Diwas in Budgam and Sopore to enhance public engagement and build stronger police-public relations.
In Sopore, the events were attended by senior police officers including officers of the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police, Sub-Divisional Police Officers and concerned Station House Officers.
In Budgam, Thana Diwas was observed at various police establishments across the district and these events were chaired by respective jurisdictional police officers, attended by community members. Thana Diwas served as a platform for the public to voice their suggestions, provide feedback, and share genuine concerns. Issues pertaining to law and order, public safety, and service delivery were discussed.
Morevoer, the Grievances related to policing were noted for prompt redressal, while matters concerning civil administration were assured to be taken up with the concerned authorities for early resolution. The public expressed appreciation for the initiative and requested more frequent interactions of this nature, reinforcing the trust between the people and the police.
