Srinagar : Police in Handwara on Thursday organized Thana Diwas/Lok Darbar across all police establishments in the district. The initiative focused on educating the public about the newly introduced criminal laws, particularly their victim-centric and citizen-friendly provisions.
The events saw enthusiastic participation from various sections of society, including religious leaders, local representatives, senior citizens, Masjid Imams, Nambardars, and other community stakeholders.
During the interactive sessions, police officials presented key highlights of the revised legal framework, emphasizing how the changes are designed to strengthen victims’ rights, ensure greater transparency, and streamline the justice process. The officers encouraged citizens to familiarize themselves with the new laws and reassured the community of the police department’s commitment to fair and effective implementation.
