Shopian: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta on Wednesday visited the Mughal Road to assess its traffic worthiness following landslides due to the heavy rainfall during intervening night of 27-28 May, and to take stock of the clearance operations from the Shopian side.
During the inspection, DC took on ground appraisal of the removal of rockfall and slide debris at vulnerable spots prone to continuous landslides.
DC directed the Beacon authorities and other concerned engineers to gear up their activities by putting more men and machinery into the service for making the historical Mughal Road operational at an earliest.
DC was accompanied by ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz; ACR, engineers from Beacon and other concerned.
