Budgam : Jammu & Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO), in collaboration with the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) – Grant Thornton Bharat and the District Industries Centre (DIC) Budgam, organized a district-level awareness workshop on the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme at the Regional Extension Training Centre (RETC), Budgam.
SPIU – team delivered a comprehensive presentation on the objectives, components, and key interventions of the RAMP scheme. The session aimed to build awareness among local stakeholders and implementing agencies about the scheme’s benefits and opportunities.
The team elaborated on support areas such as market access, skilling, digital empowerment, capacity building, and strengthening of institutions like DICs.
The workshop saw active engagement from over 100 participants, including MSME entrepreneurs, women-led businesses, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), artisans, cultivators, farmers, and emerging enterprises from across the district.
Additionally, key implementing bodies such as DIC Budgam, J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), SICOP, Lead Bank, and the Handloom and Handicrafts departments delivered comprehensive presentations on their respective programs, schemes, and support systems for MSMEs.
The event was attended by senior officials from DIC Budgam including Functional Managers and Industrial Promotion Officers (IPOs), along with representatives from various supporting departments and institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, the officials emphasized the importance of convergence and collaboration among departments to ensure last-mile delivery of schemes under the RAMP program. They encouraged participants to take full advantage of government support for enhancing productivity, formalization, and access to markets and finance.
The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where entrepreneurs and SHG members shared their experiences, raised queries, and provided valuable feedback. The initiative marks another step towards inclusive and decentralized implementation of the RAMP scheme across J&K.
