DC Kulgam reviews Eid-ul-Adha arrangements

Kulgam: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Saturday convened a meeting of officers to review the arrangements put in place for the upcoming festive occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
During the meeting, DC directed officers of Jal Shakti and KPDCL to ensure a smooth supply of water and electricity across the district. He also directed the Jal Shakti department to press water tankers in required areas and ensure no shortage of water at any place.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer informed the meeting that adequate numbers of poultry birds are available in the district.
District Sheep Husbandry Officer informed the chair that adequate numbers of sacrificial animals (Goats and Sheep) are available in the district. Sale outlets cum mandies would be established in the main town, he added.
Instructions were passed by the DC to constitute joint teams to intensify market checking to ensure the quality food items such as bakery, confectionery, milk, meat, chicken, vegetables, and other essentials are available in the market.
DC directed AD, FCS&CA to ensure that the process of ration distribution is completed before Eid so that people may not face any difficulty in this regard.
Municipal authorities were directed to ensure proper sanitation in towns, mosques and eidgah.
Executive Officers of Municipalities were directed to identify places for proper disposal of offal and to inform people regarding the same.
On the occasion, Traffic police authorities were asked to ensure smooth movement of traffic besides traffic advisory if needed.
District Police was directed to make necessary security arrangements and deployments at major shrines, eidgah and the places where needed.
Health department was directed to keep available medical facilities wherever necessary.
The meeting was attended by ADC, Viqar Ahmed Giri; Tehsildars, Executive Engineers of KPDCL, Jal Shakti, AD GCS&CA, EOs of MCs, DSHO, CAHO, ARTO, Traffic Police and others concerned.
