Budgam: District administration Budgam, Municipal Council Budgamon Thursday conducted a special cleanliness & sanitation drive in municipal areas of the district.
The mega cleanliness drive was conducted from HumhamaChowk to the DC Office Budgam. This stretch, being a key approach road to the district headquarters, was selected for focused cleaning and beautification.
As part of the drive, unwanted grass and wild vegetation cutting along the roadsides was conducted besides roadside drains were cleaned and desilted to ensure smooth flow and prevent waterlogging.
Sweeping of roads and collection of scattered waste and litter were also carried out thoroughly. Several legacy waste points that had accumulated over time were also cleared. Steps were also taken to enhance the overall appearance of the road.
Around 100 sanitation workers, officials, and field staff participated in the drive and were led by EO, MC Budgam.
The effort was supported by mechanical sweepers, garbage collection vehicles, JCBs, and other necessary equipment to ensure effective and wide coverage.
The drive was part of a continuous mission to maintain cleanliness and promote civic responsibility, and such drives will be conducted across district Budgam.
District administration remains committed towards keeping public spaces clean and providing a healthy environment for all citizens across the district.
