Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that it has solved a theft case within 12 hours by arresting three accused for being involved in the commission of crime and also recovered stolen vehicle from their possession here on Awantipora.
In a statement issued from Zonal police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Post Reshipora received a complaint about theft of an auto rickshaw on 20th May . Stating that according to the complaint some unknown thieves have stolen a vehicle (Auto Rickshaw) which was parked outside the house of the complainant at Ghat Tokina, Police in its statement further said that a case under FIR No. 116/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Awantipora besides initiating further invesigations.
Police in its statement further said that during the course of investigation, a Police team headed by IC Police Post Reshipora taking assistance of modern techniques including collection of CCTV footages of various locations learnt about the involvement of three accused identified as Aakhir Ahmad Wani S/o Fayaz Ahmad Wani R/o Tengpora Tokuna, Setha Ahmad Dar S/o Mohd Akbar Dar R/o Renzipora and Adnan Ahmad Bhat S/o Mohd Altaf Bhat R/o Renzipora. Stating that special checkpoint was established and all the accused were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody, Police in its statement further said that Stolen vehicle (Auto Rikshaw) bearing registration number JK04D-1894 was also recovered from the possession of the said accused.
