Poonch : A meeting to review damage assessment and relief sanctioning was held here Tuesday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal. The meeting focused on evaluating the extent of damage caused by recent cross-border shelling and ensuring timely relief to affected families.
The meeting was attended by the ADDC, ADC, ACR, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), Tehsildars and Executive Engineers of PDD and PHE from across the district. Discussions centered around field reports, verification of damage claims and the status of financial assistance disbursement.
During the meeting, it was informed that a total of 691 cases have been sanctioned under the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) guidelines. The compensation is being provided at the rates prescribed under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) norms, ensuring fairness and uniformity in relief delivery.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers to expedite the disbursement process and maintain complete transparency. He emphasized the importance of timely support to the affected families and called for close coordination among departments to address any pending cases without delay.
The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to standing with the people in times of crisis and assured that all necessary steps are being taken to provide relief and rehabilitation in a just and efficient manner.
