The programme was conducted under the overall supervision of Khalid Jahangir, Director, JKEDI and was specifically designed to promote entrepreneurship among aspiring female entrepreneurs from District Jammu.
A total of 17 candidates had registered for the training programme, out of which 16 successfully completed the course. The participants were provided with comprehensive training on key business aspects, including business plan formulation, marketing strategies, financial and accounts management, record keeping and customer relationship management.
The training was facilitated by Ms. Monika Salaria and Ms. Humera Nazir, while the Guest Lectures were delivered by officials from J&K Bank, District Employment and Counselling Centre (DECC) Jammu, and the Labour Department, among others.
The programme was tailored for enterprise creation in the retail and service sectors, with a focus on ventures such as boutiques, dental clinics, cosmetics outlets, readymade garments, electrical goods, and restaurants, across various areas of District Jammu.
A notable feature of the programme was an interactive session with a successful entrepreneur, which offered participants practical guidance, shared experiences, and inspiration to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations with greater confidence.
On the concluding day of the programme, Dr. Vinod Sharma, Incharge Trainings, JKEDI, and Dr. Amit Sharma, Incharge Centre for Business Development (CBD), JKEDI, interacted with the participants, offering valuable insights, practical suggestions, and encouragement to the aspiring entrepreneurs.
At the valedictory ceremony, Rajesh Kotwal, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Jammu, highlighted the critical role of entrepreneurship in fostering economic development and self-reliance. He commended the participants for their initiative and commitment. Mukhlis Ali, Assistant Director, DECC Jammu, also addressed the gathering and presented certificates of completion to the successful trainees.
The programme concluded on a positive note, with participants expressing enthusiasm to establish their own ventures and contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of the Union Territory.
