Srinagar : Police in Kupwara on Monday organized an awareness programme on the recently introduced criminal laws under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya SakshyaAdhiniyam (BSA) at My New School, Dragmulla.
Thesession was chaired by Javed Ahmad and attended by a panel of legal experts who explained the key changes and reforms introduced by the New Laws. The programme specifically emphasized on victim-centric measures ensuring faster and more sensitive handling of criminal cases, Cybercrime awareness, highlighting preventive measures and legal remedies for students in the digital age andDrug abuse prevention, focusing on the legal, social, and health impacts of substance abuse.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 students and teaching staff, who engaged actively in the discussions and Q&A sessions. The programme was also attended by DSP Probationer Mr. Raghav, InchargeDragmulla Bilal Ahmad.
