Drug peddler arrested in Srinagar, contraband substances also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Srinagar Police on Saturday arrested a drug peddler from Bemina area and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar a Police team of Police Station Bemina during patrolling, intercepted a scooty rider at Hamza Colony near Medage Building and identified him as Mohd Rafiq Kaloo S/o Ab. Khaliq Kaloo R/o Sumbal Bandipora A/P Mansoor Colony Bemina . Stating that during search, substantial quantity of Brown Sugar and Charas like substances were recovered from the possession of the said accused following which he was arrested, Police in its statement further said that the scooty bearing registration number JK15B-0703 was also seized, adding therein that a case under FIR No. 36/2025 under NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bemina besides initiating further investigations. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement reiterated its commitment to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
