3rd batch completes 1 yr Malie Training Course, Director Horticulture (J) gives away certificates to 42 Trainees

Jammu : The Department of Horticulture Jammu on Saturday organized a valedictory cum Certificate distribution event to felicitate trainees of 3rd batch of Orientation Programme/Malie Training Course 2024-25 here at Directorate of Horticulture Complex.
Director Horticulture Jammu C.L. Sharma, the chief guest gave away the certificates to the trainees for completing the One-year Orientation Programme/ Mali Training Course.
Joint Director Vikas Anand, Dy. Director (Central) Mukesh Kumar Sharma, Divisional Training Officer Virinder Kumar and other officers of the department were also present.
The trainees were sensitized on standard operating procedures, protocol of raising nurseries in open and protected structures, training/ pruning of mother plants, basin preparations and other nursery operations. He also briefed the trainees in detail about the Central and J&K sponsored schemes of the department especially Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) with a motive to enhance the farmers’ income. Further, he said that HADP is designed to provide comprehensive support, enabling farmers to harness modern techniques and resources for better productivity and profitability.
Joint Director Horticulture Jammu Vikas Anand also interacted with the trainees and told them to disseminate the departmental schemes to the grass root level and to reach out every farmer of their respective area with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Earlier, Divisional Training officer Virinder Kumar informed that 42 individuals have been successfully trained in the Divisional Training Institute at Mega Fruit Plant Nursery Chakroi R.S.Pura and training was provided on various components of departmental/nursery operations/activities and schemes being implemented in the Horticulture Department.
Among others present were Satish Kumar, Nursery Registration Officer Jammu, Sunil Gupta, Assistant Director, Abhinav Gupta District Horticulture Officer, Zia-Ur-Rashid DLSMS (Entomology) besides other officials of the department were also present on the occasion.
