Reasi: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Reasi, Nidhi Malik chaired the District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting on Friday to assess the performance of the banking sector for the quarter ending March 2025.
During the meeting, the DDC reviewed key banking indicators including the Credit-Deposit (CD) ratio, priority sector lending, and agricultural advances.
The DDC appreciated the banks for their improved performance across various key parameters, including agricultural credit, priority sector lending, and credit support to weaker sections of society. She acknowledged these efforts as vital contributions towards inclusive growth and the overall welfare of the people. Expressing concern over the low CD ratio of certain banks in this quarter, she directed them to enhance their performance in the upcoming quarter.
The DDC emphasized the need to prioritize sectors such as agriculture, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), renewable energy, and support for weaker sections of society. She also reviewed the implementation of various government-sponsored schemes and urged banks and line departments to strengthen coordination for timely disbursement of benefits to eligible beneficiaries.
The DDC took stock of Aadhaar seeding in bank accounts and directed banks to expedite the process for all left-out beneficiaries. She also called for increased awareness drives and deeper banking outreach, particularly in rural and aspirational areas like Thakrakote block, to enhance financial inclusion.
Furthermore, the DDC underscored the importance of scaling up enrollments under social security schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana (PMJJY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY).
The meeting also included a review of the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) and its ongoing training programs aimed at skill development and employment generation.
The DDC urged all stakeholders to work collaboratively to improve banking performance and ensure that the benefits of financial schemes reach the last mile.
CPO Reasi Narinder Kumar, LDM SBI, Cluster Head J&K Bank, DSHO, CAHO and other district officers were present during the meeting.
