MLA Gulmarg Farooq Shah Launches Key Development Works, Vows Holistic Growth Across Constituency

Tangmarg: In a continued effort to boost development and public welfare Farooq Ahmad Shah (IAS Retd.) Member Legislative Assembly (MLA), Gulmarg, undertook a series of visits across the constituency, focusing on infrastructure, education, heritage, agriculture, and community support.
At Utikoo, Tehsil Kwarhama Shah laid the foundation stone for the renovation and construction of the shrine of Hazrat Syed Mohammad Moosa (RA). The project is being handled by the Department of Archives, Archaeology & Museums, with a project cost of Rs. 55.47 lakhs and Rs. 38.82 lakhs allotted. The R&B Division Tangmarg will execute the work. On the occasion, Mr. Shah said that the shrine holds immense spiritual and cultural value, and its restoration will preserve the region’s heritage for future generations. Further strengthening the education sector, he also laid the foundation stone for an Additional Classroom (ACR) at PM SHRI Government Boys Middle School, Utikoo, aimed at easing student space constraints and enhancing learning conditions. Shah also visited Wussan Bangil to inspect the proposed site for the Eklavya Model Residential School and an Indoor Sports Stadium. These upcoming facilities are expected to significantly benefit local students and aspiring athletes by providing quality education and modern sports infrastructure. In support of rural livelihoods Shah inspected two dairy farms in Mangloora and Ogmuna, where he interacted with farmers and workers. He emphasized the importance of upgrading and modernizing these farms with improved infrastructure, training, and support services. He reaffirmed his vision of making Gulmarg a leading hub for dairy production, ensuring both food security and income generation for local communities.
The MLA concluded his day with a visit to Darul Uloom Ganiwani, Block Chandil, where he reviewed damage to the Darasgah building. He assured the management of all possible help emphasizing the need to protect institutions that serve both education and faith. Talking to reporters Shah reiterated his commitment to inclusive and sustainable development across the Gulmarg constituency, ensuring no sector or community is left behind.
