5 unlawfuls arrested for illegal extraction, transportation of minerals in Awantipora. 5 vehicles also seized : Police

Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has seized five vehicles used in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Awantipora and also arrested their drivers in Wuyan and Khrew areas.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquartrs Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Khrew have seized five vehicles (tippers and dumpers) bearing registration nos JK01F-6266, JK01H-425, JK04C-5897, JK13C-1869 & JK02BC-4548, adding there in that driver of the said tipper and dumpers were also arrested. Police in its statement further said that drivers arrested in connection with their involvement in the case were identified as Ashraf Kuttan S/o Abdullah R/o Panthachowk Srinagar, Mudasir Wani S/o Mohd Akbar R/o Panthachowk Srinagar, Hazim Manzoor Bhat S/o Manzoor Ahmad Bhat R/o Sharshali, Shahid Ahmad Teli S/o Farooq Ahmad Teli R/o Khrew and Rameez Ahmad Khanday S/o Ab Majeed Khanday R/o Ladhoo.
Police in its statement furthermore said that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Khrew besides initiating further investigations into the case.
